Let me just start by saying I was a little hesitant before reading this book. Every review or little comment I saw written about it described it as basically porn. Never the less, I decided to purchase it when I saw it on sale on a daily deal site for around 7$, just out of curiousity. At the time, I didn’t know I would fall so deeply in love with this author’s writing or the amazing storyline.

This is a story about a girl named Anastasia (or Ana). She is a young English Litterature student that lives with her roomate, Kate. Kate is a jouralist for the school newspaper and on the day of her very important interview with the young (and very handsome) entrepaneur Mr. Christian Grey, she gets the flu and asks Ana to go instead of her. That’s how the story of Ana and Christian begins.
The story itself reminds me a lot of some kind of a love story with a forbidden love, a little like Twilight, or the likes of it. It’s very cute, very romantic at parts and over-all the perfect love story. But, here comes the twist, instead of it being a Young Adult book with a predator like a vampire or a werewolf, in this story we have Christian. Christian has a very “singular erotic taste”, like the book’s description, and pulls Ana into his world.
The book is the perfect balance between the “love story” side of it and the “erotic” parts, which makes it so unique. I really have enjoyed reading this book and the rest of the series, as well. As soon as I was done reading the first one, I ran to the store to get the next! It was a really captivating series and I hope with all my heart that the author does go ahead and continue writing more books!
Over all, this book was amazing and I truely, whole heartedly recommend this series! (to anyone aged 17 and up)
